Good to know.
A few honest answers about how telehealth works at Zendra Health, who it suits, and where it has its limits. If your question is not here, our team is glad to talk it through.
How it works.
The shape of a consultation, who it is for, and what makes the experience considered rather than rushed.
Telehealth means meeting a practitioner by secure video rather than in a clinic room. You book a time, complete a short intake, then speak with an AHPRA-registered Australian healthcare practitioner from wherever you are. Appointments are unhurried, with notes and continuity that carry from one visit to the next.
It suits people who want considered medical advice without travelling to a clinic, and whose concern can be reviewed safely by video. It is not right for everyone or every concern. If your situation needs hands-on examination or urgent attention, your practitioner will say so and point you toward the right care.
You speak with an AHPRA-registered Australian healthcare practitioner in a live video consultation. Your practitioner works within Australian clinical standards. Any prescription is issued lawfully by an appropriately authorised AHPRA-registered prescriber, and only where it is clinically appropriate.
Consultations are available to people across Australia. Because care is delivered by video, you can speak with a practitioner from home, work, or anywhere you have a private space and a stable internet connection.
Time, mostly. Consultations are designed to be unhurried, so there is room to talk things through. Your history and notes follow you, so a later conversation builds on the last rather than starting again from scratch.
Who you speak with.
Every consultation is led by an AHPRA-registered Australian healthcare practitioner. Here is how appointments, referrals, and follow-up are handled.
Every consultation is a live conversation with an AHPRA-registered Australian healthcare practitioner by secure video. Your practitioner reviews your history and circumstances before offering any advice.
You complete a short intake form, then meet your practitioner by video. They listen, ask questions, and talk through your history and what you are hoping to understand. An initial consultation is 30 minutes, which is long enough to consider things without rushing. Afterward, you receive notes summarising what was discussed and any next steps.
That depends entirely on your circumstances and your practitioner's clinical judgement. A consultation may result in advice, monitoring, lifestyle support, a referral, further investigation, or, if deemed medically appropriate, a treatment plan. Individual results vary based on your circumstances, and a consultation does not guarantee a particular outcome.
You choose the pharmacy. Where a prescription is clinically appropriate, you are free to have it filled wherever you like. You do not have to use any pharmacy we suggest. Your practitioner can talk the options through with you during the consultation. Individual results vary, and a consultation does not guarantee a particular outcome.
No. You can book a consultation directly. If a referral would support your care, your practitioner can discuss arranging one during your appointment.
Care is designed to continue beyond a single consultation. Follow-up is managed according to your individual treatment plan and clinical needs. Your practitioner will advise when a review is recommended, based on your progress and circumstances. If you have questions, concerns, changes in your health, or feel you need an earlier review, you can request an appointment with your practitioner. Your notes and history travel with you, so a follow-up picks up where the last consultation finished.
The practical details.
What a consultation costs, how to prepare, and how your information is kept confidential under Australian privacy law.
Yes. Consultation fees are shown clearly before you confirm a booking. There are no hidden or surprise charges, and you will know what a consultation costs before you commit to anything.
Completing the intake form honestly is the most useful thing you can do. It also helps to find a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection, and to have any relevant history or current medicines on hand so your practitioner has the full picture.
Your information is handled in line with Australian privacy law and the Australian Privacy Principles. Consultations take place over secure video, and your records are kept confidential. You can read the detail in our privacy policy.
Your records are kept confidential and accessed by your care team for the purpose of providing your care. We do not sell your information. Our privacy policy sets out how your information is collected, stored, and used.
Still have a question?
A consultation is simply a conversation with an AHPRA-registered Australian healthcare practitioner about what matters to you, and where to go from here. There is no obligation to proceed.
